This was pretty good. I can see why they started it off as a Pretender crossover and then changed it. It certainly had that feel. Alliana was a good character; and I'm glad that, for once, we have a situation where Blair is regretting not having published his disseration sooner - most fanfic concentrates on the possible danger to Jim, rather than considering the number of people who could have been saved by it. Plot-wise, I think the scented list thing was a bit too much of a long-shot. Nifty idea, but a long shot. But then, heros are allowed to have improbable good luck as much as improbable bad luck, aren't they?
