Summary: Snape finds out about another prophecy as he sets out to learn more about Muggles. Harry becomes more to him than just a Hogwarts student.

This has a slow and somewhat clunky start, but things start getting interesting soon enough. Snape is snarky and cantankerous and reluctant to do as Dumbledore asks, and even more reluctant to accept help with it. But once he gets past that... he's still snarky. And still a terror in the classroom, even when he's not at Hogwarts.

Harry and Hermione and Ron are fast friends at the start of this, but the major part of the story is about Harry and Snape. Harry gets put through the wringer, and then gets put through the wringer again. Snape doesn't see himself as a rescuer, but he keeps on doing it (except for when he doesn't).

There are two of my favourite things in this story: Snape as mentor, and mental connections. If there's a theme in this story, it is that two are better than one, and the sum of the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.
