Ace decides to go to the house at Allen Road for Christmas, and finds the 9th Doctor is there already. A lovely story; hints of dark in the light, old mannerisms in a new face, things Ace doesn't know, and yet she recognises him as the Doctor as soon as she sees him. Many things to like in this.

Lovely. A gem. It glows. All the snippets are in character, and it makes you wonder, and think, and mourn, and smile.

This is a long-delayed review. This story was done for the Doctor Who Minor Characters ficathon last year. It features Jabe, paradoxes, fate, and things that never happened. It has a lovely, stately mythic feel... and a sadness of might-have-beens. Beautiful.
