This is a sober and sombre piece with flashes of humour, good for
anyone who likes Methos -- and the Scarlet Pimpernel. The summary says:
"A certain immortal finds himself being led to the guillotine during the
Reign of Terror. Luckily, some Englishmen are in the right place at the
right time." The scenes of the Terror keep reminding Methos of the past
atrocities he himself committed, while the kindness, selflessness and
bravery of Sir Percy, Marguerite and the League of the Scarlet
Pimpernel make Methos wonder if there is really a better way forward
for him than to just hide away from mortals and from the Game. Sir
Percy and Marguerite are true to character, he being both witty and
dangerous, she loving him greatly and not being demure. Secrets were
discovered, yes, but not given away. Definitely a good read.
