Summary: SS/HG. Post-Deathly Hallows. Severus Snape survives, only to find himself entangled in an enchantment he never expected.

The first couple of chapters felt a bit clumsy, but I really like how the story developed. The relationship between Snape and Hermione grew slowly and subtly, which is how I like it; plausibly slowly, with dollops of angst and denial.

I am also impressed by the way that, though Voldemort has been defeated, the War is not over, even though the war is won; how the author portrays the trauma and strain that the past year has put so many people under. The supporting cast are well-drawn too, not just Hermione and Snape. They have their strengths and their weaknesses, whether they are heroes or villains. Yes, there are villains; this isn't just a romance; there are evil deeds and deaths and rescues and aftermaths. And, of course, potions.
