Normally I'm wary of stories written in the present tense; it
reminds me of 3rd-grade composition class. However, I'm glad I kept on
going with this one. This is a character-focused story, and it focuses
on Richard Barrett. Showing, not telling, the way he feels cut off from
humanity by what happened in the Himalayas. Melancholy, with a hopeful
ending. I liked it.
