Summary:Sometimes, you have to sacrifice for the sake of a friend. Donna knows this very well. Must be 4x13 compliant to ride.

It isn't that the ideas in this post-JE story are new - I've read enough of them - but the way it's told, you get surprised anyway. I love how Donna isn't angry at the Doctor, how she's her best self, how she's, yes, noble. How the familiar is made strange, also.

Summary:He won't fall in love with her, he's smarter than that. But it just comes down to the inertia of the thing.

This caught me unexpectedly. I don't ship Doctor/Donna, not at all, but then this story doesn't quite either. But this caught at me, bittersweet and silent.
