When I saw this crossover, I thought, hey, great! I wonder
what the author will do with Madeline L'Engle's universe meets
the X-Files? Apparently not much. This story is a re-telling of a
portion of "A Wind in the Door", with Scully taking the Meg role,
and Mulder taking the Calvin role, and The Well-Manicured Man taking
the Mr Jenkins role. In other words this is an insertion
story. And like every other insertion story I've read, one is better
off with the original. It doesn't make sense to use Madeline L'Engle's
plot as well as her setting, because the plot doesn't fit these other
characters as well as it fits the characters it was written for.
Shakespeare could do it, but most of us aren't that good.
