Bonds (Sentinel/Highlander)
Reviewed by Kathryn A on 25th December 1999
Third in a series, but it stands alone, if you don't mind
it referring back to previous stories, and having original characters
taking a major role. This is also tied in heavily with the events
of the "Comes A Horseman" episodes of Highlander, so you should see
those before you read this. Which basically means that this is a
more Highlander-oriented crossover than Sentinel. I'm not sure about
this story. It was okay, but I sort of felt there was a lot of
"information dumps" going on, a lot of people explaining things to
different people repeatedly, I'm not sure. Also I felt it was a
little sudden, the mutual attraction between two of the parties, or,
at least, not a problem that the mutual attraction happened so fast,
but that it developed into something so strong that fast, seemed
unbelievable.

Summary: This is a Xover between Stargate and The Sentinel. When Blair Sandburg unknowingly shows a member of the SGC a picture of Egyptian-like ruins found in a dig in Peru, it causes an avalanche of circumstances, which forces Jack O'Neill to head a mission to Peru.
When I downloaded this story to read, I didn't recognise the nom-de-plume, so
it was a pleasant surprise when I realized that this was an author I already
knew and liked. What wasn't a surprise was that this was a good story.
Things to like:
a) the fleshing out of a minor Tok'ra character
b) another perspective on the Tok'ra seen by an OFC (don't go running, she's not a Mary-Sue)
c) alien cultures
d) mysteries, spying, action, kidnapping, derring-do
e) fascinating origin myths
f) good characterisation of Our Heroes, whether that be Jim, Jack, Blair or Daniel.
