This story is set in the same "universe" as D.L. Witherspoon's "Restoration" series; it uses the same scenario and is set after the events of it, but this is a crossover with Stargate, too. Alas, it can't compare with the original "Restoration" series; it doesn't have the same deliciousness or style, but then that's a lot to live up to.

This does have some interesting ideas, and a decent plot, though the end is rather abrupt and leaves you hanging somewhat. There's also a lot of 'splainin' (explaining) going on (in order to get all the ideas out into the light of day...) I do want to find out what happens next, though -- like the next five minutes after the end! As I said, it ended rather abruptly. I wanna see Jack's reaction... (evil grin)

One thing that did puzzle me though, and that was the author's assertion that this story was a spoiler for Meridian. I didn't notice anything spoilery (and I'd just watched Meridian before I read this, so as not to be spoiled). It is, of course AU, because Meridian can't happen in this universe, but I didn't notice any spoilers. References to the original movie, and to "Crystal Skull" were the only things that stood out particularly. Oh, and the backstory from a few other episodes.
