Legend and song.

Challenge: tthdrabbles #114 - dance

Author's note: This could be considered a sequel to my much earlier drabble "Galloping", but it can equally stand alone. Inspired by the Rohirrim.

Into the den of the dire undead ones
down to darkness, night unending
rode the Immortal and the Slayer.
Sprang she high from off the horseback
sure and graceful, stake she wielded
deadly damsel the vampires dusted.
Fleet his steed was, true her schooling,
heeded her hostler, Death of the Horsemen.
Skilled his sword-arm, swift in striking
aim unerring, he hewed them headless.
Ancient warrior and Vampire Slayer
twice untamed they, unrelenting
battle joy their hearts uplifting
fiercely fighting, nothing fearing.
Dread cadavers, demons' clothing
monstrous, mighty, vile, inhuman
bold bloodsuckers, foul corruption
doomed yet were they, to dust returning.
