Don't Look Down

Don't look down
Keep your eyes on the Rock
Be as nimble as a goat
without thinking
Walk on a tightrope like solid ground
Keep your eyes on the Guide
and don't look down.

Conventional wisdom decrees
that navel-gazing will cure your ills
Know thyself they say
but the mirror's cracked
the pool is troubled
and he who saves his life will lose it.

No fix will be found
by hunting in the dark
Drink in the light and live
Keep your eye on the life-line
and not on the storm
The glass is half full
not half empty.
Look to the Son
and the quiet miracle will come
Don't look down
and you can walk on water.
