Loom Knit: Knitting Round Loom StripesStriping is really easy and uses two or three strands at the same time to form the loops. The trick is to count the pegs on the loom to determine the striping effect. You will wrap loom with select pegs with first colour... Secure last wrapped peg. Then wrap the loom with the second colour with the pegs that were skipped, secure last wrapped peg. Then knit the entire loom all at the same time.2022-10-14 14:51:00

Knitting Help - Comparing IncreasesThis video shows how different increases look side-by-side, and talks about how to substitute one for the other. A bit more complicated than substituting decreases, some increases "use up" a stitch, while others do not.
The "sister" video comparing decreases can be found here: https://youtu.be/mtRBUpvUNuk
Slow demonstrations of the increases shown: Yarn-Over: https://youtu.be/3QbFhh8u4L8 KFB (knit front back): https://youtu.be/tmOymzswPZA Make 1 (M1): https://youtu.be/IlPQBhZ31B42019-01-29 23:53:00 -
Knitting Help - Comparing DecreasesSometimes patterns, especially older patterns, will tell you to decrease without specifying which decrease to use. Or you may be working a pattern where you think a different decrease will work better than the one the pattern calls for. In this video, the author compares three popular decreases side-by-side so you can see the differences.
Slow demonstrations of the three decreases: Knit Two Together (k2tog): https://youtu.be/10Ko-GJ8Vbk Slip, Slip, Knit (SSK): https://youtu.be/Cg1ykku04is Pass Slipped Stitch Over (PSSO): https://youtu.be/QTYc54b_RBo2019-01-29 23:49:00 -
JK2TH Washcloth pattern by Aunt ZanyWorked in rows, using two Tunisian hooks. The hooks do not need to be the same size, but your gauge will be determined by the larger hook, and the smaller hook should be large enough to work comfortably with your chosen yarn. Choose any weight yarn you like, and hooks of a size appropriate to your yarn weight. This method comes from a YouTube video made for the Australian Handknitters and Spinners Group on Facebook, and have adapted the method in this pattern. You can find the original video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_9EPn67mGg2019-01-13 18:49:00

Japanese Knitting using two Tunisian hooksAn intriguing technique using two Tunisian Crochet hooks to make a textured fabric which is the same on both sides. It isn't knitting, it isn't crochet, it isn't Tunisian Crochet either. What it looks like is both casting on and casting off at the same time; you cast off one hook while casting on to the other hook.
This video was promised to the Facebook groups Knitting & Australian Handspinners & Knitters. It was first taught in 1989 (as far as we can find out) by Rosemary Fleming (deceased) of Hervey Bay QLD Australia.2019-01-13 18:46:00 -
How to Make a Woven-Look Basket on your Addi Knitting MachineThis little basket gets its woven-look texture from a unique tucking technique, which makes the basket sturdy enough to stand up on its own.
For this project, I used 1 skein of Red Heart Super Saver in Grey Heather with my Addi Express Kingsize Knitting Machine. My basket measures 5 1/2" high and 7" in diameter, but you could knit a longer tucked portion for a taller basket. The same technique can also be done on the Addi Express Professional Knitting Machine for a small basket.2018-12-17 01:28:00 -

Adding Small Beads to CrochetHow to string beads with smaller openings onto yarn. This is a different method from the pre-stringing or steel-crochet-hook methods. It is like the crochet-hook method, but instead of using a crochet hook, one uses a needle and thread to pull the bead onto the yarn. This works for beads that are too small to string onto the yarn and too small to fit on a tiny crochet hook, or with yarn that is too thick for the crochet hook to grab cleanly.2017-09-29 16:11:00

Beaded Shell Fringe Scarf Tutorial - Donna LiljegrenTutorial for making beaded shell scallops at the start of a knitted scarf. The original pattern is from Deanna's Vintage Styles (Shell Fringe Scarf). However, one doesn't need to follow that pattern in order to use the general technique. It's a lovely way of decorating the bottom of a knitted piece. This video also demonstrates how to transfer beads from a hank of beads over to one's yarn. This can be useful for any textile craft where one is adding beads to the piece (e.g. crochet, kumihimo)2017-09-17 17:37:00
