Pressed Flowers: How to Make Your OwnAs well as book and microwave, this describes how to press flowers with an iron. It seems similar to the way one fuses plastic.2015-10-30 12:05:00

DIY Borax Crystalspipe cleaners + borax + food colouring + water on the boil = pretty
This version uses a pyrex jug on the stove to ensure that the solution is super-saturated because the water is still boiling when one is dissolving the borax. It also leaves the container on the stove as it cools, which ensures the mixture cools slowly, and thus the crystals form slowly, and thus they grow bigger.2015-08-30 18:56:00 -
Crystallized Icicle Ornaments with BoraxPipe cleaners + boiling water + borax = pretty!
Making a super-saturated solution (as one did at school with Copper Sulfate). The cunning thing with the pipe-cleaners is that (a) one can bend them into interesting shapes and (b) the fluffy/spikey surface having a large surface area encourages crystal growth on it.
While this page uses this method to make Christmas decorations, the same idea could be applied on a smaller scale to make pendants.2015-08-30 18:44:00 -
String Art with HAMA beadsForm HAMA beads into a circle, fuse them, and then use that as a basis for that spirograph-like string art. Cool idea! It works because the fused HAMA beads still have holes through which one can thread things. (This is not in English, but the pictures are self-explanatory) While this uses them for Christmas decorations, the same method could be used to make pendants or earrings.2015-04-22 15:35:00

Modern Tin ArtThis is another "embossed" foil idea; rather than glue and shoe polish, it uses string and permanent markers.2015-04-03 09:58:00

Owls, Foil, Glue, and Shoe PolishPicture + glue to add 3D + foil + shoe polish to age it I've seen this idea around before, but this one is a better tutoral. Also, the original pinner suggested colouring book images rather than original art. Maybe I could use one of those "adult" colouring books as source.
But what would I do with the result? I don't want wall-hangings/pictures, they are useless. Maybe for a box-lid? One of those decorate-yourself boxes one can buy in craft shops.2015-03-20 15:12:00 -
DIY No-Knit Weaving Flower of YarnMacrame in the round, making a seven-petaled flower. It looks like macrame to me, anyway.2015-03-20 12:42:00
