How to make a Dorset Button - updated version - more close ups - 2 designs - crosswheel & pinwheel! This video is an updated version of my old video - taking on board some of the comments I've received over the years.

I've worked two buttons in this video, the traditional Dorset Crosswheel (also known as a cartwheel) and another known as a pinwheel. They are fairly different techniques, so worth watching if you enjoy button making!

How to make a shirtlace button (not a Dorset Button) - a zwirnknopfe ring button How to make a shirtlace ring button - often called a Dorset button but made in a different way to traditional Dorset buttons. Instead, the button is made using the zwirnknopfe ("thread button") method. This tutorial also includes a variation at the end that is seen very often in vintage zwirnknöpfe buttons.

Bamboo Stitch Dish Cloth pattern by Stacy Wilkinson This wash cloth is featured as week 4 of the 6 week Learn to Knit series. With the pattern, there is also a row by row checklist and a link to the video tutorial where I walk you through each step of knitting this project. The final outcome is a lovely, textured and useful wash cloth.

For the sample, I used less than a skein of Lilly Sugar'n Cream yarn in the color ''Swimming Pool''. You can use any cotton yarn that you like, however the pattern is written for the Medium 4 weight yarn. The pattern is written for an 8.5'' x 8.5'' cloth, but is completely and easily customizable to adjust the width and length to any size that you like.

Pattern by Louise Patterson. The Diagonal Braid is a textured stitch that produces a reversible fabric. This pattern is for a dishcloth, but it could be extended to make a scarf or blanket.

This looks like a sort of staggered rib stitch.
