How to Knit a sock without Turning a Heel by ARNE & CARLOS In this week's episode, we take a look at how to knit a sock without heel. The sock design that we have come up with is called a "Spiral Sock" in Norway. It's a fun sock to knit and the diagonal spiral design ensures a perfect fit on the foot and heel. Just knit the desired length and that's pretty much it! It's super easy!

Easy crochet socks - beginner friendly tutorial

Here is a nice smooth toe for Toe-Up Boot Socks or house Socks on a Knitting loom in Owl Eye Stitch. Owl eye makes it so much more cushy. There is no drawstring or sewing on this short row toe. This is done using German Short Rows, but wrap-and-turn short rows will work also.

This tutorial shows how to make socks on a circular knitting machine; the whole sock is done on the machine, it isn't necessary to hand-knit the toe or heel. This is done by using short rows. The resulting sock looks very neat and tidy. This video has a translated over-dubbed soundtrack in English (the original was in German I think).

The first attraction of these socks is that they don't have a heel. Yes, perhaps that makes them less durable as socks, but it makes them easier to crochet. The second attraction is the lovely texture that this design creates.
