Such a nifty idea, I wonder it never occurred to me before: use round leather thonging to make Celtic knots (with added beads) to make earrings. Leather has both flexibility and stiffness that suits this kind of design. (This uses to be on Etsy, but it has vanished)

The braid of wire on the outside of the pendant is what gives it the Celtic/Nordic touch.
